Classic Reimagined: This Alloy-Bodied 1953 Jaguar XK120 is Vintage Perfection with a Modern Edge

A magnificent fusion of vintage style and modern performance can be acquired in the alloy-bodied 1953 Jaguar XK120 Roadster that was recently featured on Bring a Trailer. The vehicle, which had been disassembled since 1964, was purchased in 2013, and a comprehensive restoration began in 2020.
Its aluminum bodywork, Aston Martin Racing Green paint, and engine boost were all part of the restoration. A period-appropriate McClure inlet manifold was fitted with triple SU carburetors to improve the performance of the original 3.4-liter straight-six, that was initially bored to 3.8 liters.
The aluminum-bodied XK120 was the world’s fastest production automobile when it was introduced in 1948. It was drop dead gorgeous and wealthy people who were driven quickly grew to favor it as their go-to runabout. Not surprisingly, Clark Gable received the first production automobile.
They really took their time upgrading the car’s looks, too. A front air inlet to the carburetors, front brake ducts, front sidelight pods, D-type steering wheels and a cut-down windshield are among the modifications. The cabin has a unique console, fitted baggage in the doors and trunk, and handcrafted bucket seats with a Biscuit and Tan leather finish..
Performance-wise, the car does not disappoint. It signifies a driving experience that matches its impressive appearance with its five-speed Tremec gearbox, XK140 rack-and-pinion steering, and Gaz shocks. Despite honoring its history, this meticulously rebuilt XK120 has modern refinements that set it apart on the road and at auction
