They have downsized displacement to a turbocharged G16E-GTS 1.6 l 3-cylinder engine which is now producing 300 hp and a good amount of torque. They have further added front and rear limited slip differentials as standard in the car because it is an AWD or All wheel drive drivetrain for better grip and traction on track. They have made further changes in the suspension and front facials for better aerodynamics and cornering.

The expected price for the 2024 Toyota GR Corolla is to be around $38,000 depending upon the add-ons and trim levels of the car as they have mainly introduced the Core which is the base variant then the Premium and after that Premium Plus which tops the line-up and another variant which is limited edition Morizo version which mainly track focused with some better performance upgrades.
They have added features for the 2024 Premium Plus variant which got some better things including a carbon roof, a power bulge hood, and a head-up display. 2024 Toyota GR Corolla Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The engine of this 2024 Toyota GR Corolla is straight out of the GR Yaris which is sold globally in the market. The Toyota engineers have equipped the car with better pistons and internals to take out more power from it without breaking it and making it more durable than before. The engine is a G16E-GTS 1.6-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine which now makes 304-hp at (6500 rpm) and 370 Nm of Torque or 273 lb-ft of Torque at (3000 rpm). It is equipped with 12 Valves in total and 4 Valves per cylinder (DOHC) or dual overhead cam technology with Variable Valve timing.
The 2024 GR Corolla is equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission Awd (IMT) with front and rear differentials which comes as standard in this car and an 8-speed automatic transmission Awd intelligent manual transmission or (IMT) with rev-matching for the other variant of this GR Corolla. The GR Corolla uses the bespoke four-wheel drive system same as the GR Yaris. In normal driving mode, the car gives 60% of its power to the front wheels and 40% to the rear wheels while in Track mode the car gives 50% of its power to the front and 50% of its power to the rear wheels. In the sports mode, it gives 30% power to the front and 70% to the rear wheels for better traction and stability. Rev matching feature comes standard.
They have also used a Carbon fibre roof for lower centre of gravity same as in the GR Yaris but it is completely exposed in the 2024 GR Corolla. The GR Corolla weighs 1475 kg which is almost 200 kg more than the GR Yaris.

The 0-60 mph time for the GR Corolla was 4.9 seconds and 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds it reached 100 mph in 11.4 seconds. That’s only a bit quicker than the Honda Civic Type R and Volkswagen Golf R. The time for the same figures may get reduced because of the automatic transmission and these figures may vary on changing the normal conditions for testing.

2024 Toyota GR Corolla Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe
Due to the lower displacement of the 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine, the car does a good job on the fuel economy being a performance-oriented car, however, the GR Corolla still delivers relatively decent fuel economy, but its EPA estimates of 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway are well below that of the normal Corolla hatchback.

Heading inside the interior we get the GR 3 spoke tilt and telescopic sports steering wheel which feels smooth. We get the bespoke GR-styled digital driver display for all sorts of critical information with smooth sporty graphics. They have further added the GR start and stop button and a GR sports gear knob. They have further added a GR All Wheel Drive (Awd) toggle to switch the modes. We get the sports aluminum pedals down there and we get GR-designed floor mats as well.
We have the same Sports seats just as the GR Yaris with a bit of Alcantara and pure leather in it. We get red stitching on multiple bits such as stitching on seats and gear knobs and door panels as well. The red stitching gives a proper GR and sporty theme to the interior of this pocket rocket. The interior is mainly driver-focused.
Heading further we get a pretty comfortable seating posture with great cushioning and hold due to the partially bucket seats. The rear seats are comfy and expensive feeling as well due to the Alcantara touch in it. Surprisingly we have better headroom and legroom as compared to the GR Yaris. We get room in the back for adults as well which will be quite practical to travel for longer distances.
We get better cargo space for the trunk as compared to the GR Yaris as the 2024 GR Corolla has 215 liters of space but as compared to the basic Corolla we get a space of 361 liters as standard which is quite practical. We get less space underneath the trunk bed because we get a battery there just like the GR Yaris for better weight distribution.
Infotainment and Connectivity
We get an 8.0-inch infotainment system which is not the most responsive one yet it works. We have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard and we do get Alexa features and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The premium trim level includes an 8-speaker JBL premium sound system while the range-topping variant includes a subwoofer. We do get wireless smartphone charging as well.
