- Subaru has revealed the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid, now offered with a 2.5-liter Arkinson-cycle four-cylinder block, a small lithium battery juicing the duo of electric motors.
- The hybrid Forester 2025 also delivers enhanced fuel economy in contrast to the non-hybrids, achieving an EPA-estimated 35 MPG combined against 29 MPG combined.
- The new Subaru Forester Hybrid is set to go on sale this spring, starting at $36,415, and hikes up to $43,115 for the range-topper Touring.
The Subaru Forester has always been a tough contender in its segment, however recently it was close to going extinct, but why? For its outdated powertrain. The increasing interest in the hybrid lineup put the boxer’s legacy in danger. However, the Forester is now back on track with an electric demeanor, all thanks to its hybrid power.
Dialed Up Power
The 2025 Subaru Forester now gets propelled by a refined Atkinson Miller Cycle 2.5-litre four-cylinder boxer block, cranking 162 ponies and 154 lb-ft of torque, a bit similar boxer to the recently debuted Crosstrek. When aided by an electric motor, it outputs 118 hp and 199 lb-ft torque, delivering a combined output of 194 horses, better than the standard Forester’s 180 pony figure.
However, the Forester Hybrid shares a similar DNA with the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the upcoming 4Runner. What’s more? All that power will flow through the Subaru’s CVT transmission and Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system, powering all four wheels. The instant electric thrust will hopefully bring down the languid 9-second 60 mph figures.
Dialed Up MPGs!
For now, Subaru has chosen to remain silent for prominent statements, however, the manufacturer does claim that the Hybrid will outshine the non-hybrid city MPG by up to 40%, and the combined MPG by 25%. The math concludes with a potential of 36 MPG combined, formerly city/highway/combined of 26/33/29 MPG.
Advanced Tech
The hybrid could be a range-topper to its lineup, as evident through its chunkier 12.3-inch infotainment screen instead of an 11.6-inch screen, which now features Apple Maps and more. What’s more? The hybrid equips a more refined EyeSight driver assistance system as well.
Exclusive Color!
Forester Hybrid will feature an exclusive Daybreak blue paint, pairable with a black roof and other colors as well as an option. A cloth upholstery will remain standard, whereas StarTex leather will remain optional for the range-toppers.
Pricing!
For now, Subaru has kept some information disguised until closer to the on-sale day. Where optional synthetic leather does make suggestions, that it might slot in the middle of the range, which could cost near to $35,000.
